CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior Rachel Ohman (Solana Beach, Calif./ Torrey Pines) and junior Billy Whitmore (Rocky River, Ohio/ St. Ignatius) have been selected as this week's University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for women's and men's cross country, respectively.
Ohman (pictured) and Whitmore helped lead their teams to first-place finishes at this past Friday's Aurora University Spartan Classic.
Ohman paced the women's field with a six-kilometer time of 23:16, while Whitmore took top honors in the men's eight-kilometer race with a time of 25:17.
Ohman and Whitmore were each tabbed as UAA Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and the second time during their respective careers.

4th Annual Faculty/Staff Night Set for Saturday
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago Athletic Department will sponsor the fourth annual Faculty & Staff Night at the Maroons' football game against Elmhurst College this Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff at Stagg Field is set for 6 p.m.
University and Hospital employees bearing a UCID or 2011-12 athletics season pass -- and any accompanying guests -- will be admitted free of charge.
In addition, the first 100 employees will receive a game program, a coupon good for a beverage at the concession stand, a coupon good for one FitChicago wellness class, and the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free three-month recreational facilities membership.
Saturday's Faculty & Staff Night is the first of several promotional events slated for this fall. Upcoming events include Youth Day at the Sept. 24 football game against Wabash College, Soccer & Subs at the Oct. 1 soccer doubleheader against Emory University, and Homecoming at the Oct. 22 football game.
