Men's Cross Country Takes 2nd at North Central Open

WINFIELD, Ill. -- The 10th-ranked University of Chicago men's cross country team finished second among six teams at the North Central College Cardinal Open Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Sam Butler (Wyndmoor, Pa./ Germantown Friends) was the Maroons' top runner, placing seventh overall with a three-mile time of 15:21. Sophomore Griffin Brunk (Carmel, Ind./ Carmel) and senior Robert Cooper (Glen Ellyn, Ill./ Glenbard South) finished ninth (15:25) and 11th (15:28), respectively.

The Maroons will play host to the 2011 University Athletic Association Championship Saturday at Montrose Harbor in Chicago.
